Question
Hi,

I have tons of unwanted inverts in my tank mostly aiptasia and unwanted Discosoma. What is the best method for removing? I have heard injections of concentrated lemon juice will work? Is this dangerous to the overall health of my tank.

Thanks
Jamie

Answer

Jamie,

I am not familar with the lemon juice method so I would not recommend this method.  What has worked with me in the past is I dropped my salinity to 1.012 -1.015 for a short time.3-5 days be carful because the die off may increase Nitrites and NH3.Which will stress your fish. This method is great for removing parasites.  Many fish will tolerate this drop.  Sharks/eels/rays/invetrebrates i.e anem's corals and such will not. They will perish! Also try to do some research.  There may be more options.

Good luck
Todd
