Nano 12 Aquarium

Question
I recently bought a nano 12 aquarium.  I have the sanlinity level at 28 and my water temp is 74.5.  Do I need to inststall a heater with this unit and how many fish can I have if I want to have live rock with a star fish, seahorse and snail.

As for your question, i would suggest reading up on the fish and critters you want to keep, some may not be compatible with others.

i.e. the seahorse, does not do well with other tank mates as they are timid, donot swim as well, and can only tolerate less flow/current, and will not compete with others for food and will starve.

If you want an all starfish tank,fine, although 12 gallons is rather small for them.

As for the heater, YES, you will need a heater to keep marine fish and critters healthy.  the ideal temps are between 76-80

It can get  alittlecooler or a little warmer but that is the average.

BTW,the slainity is measure and discussed using four digit,  i.e. 1.028, (if thats what your is,which is a little too high,but acceptable)
