Safe hobby for pregnancy

I have put on hold my 55g saltwater tank because some people have mentioned that it is not safe to be cleaning and having contact with the bacteria and misc creatures that are in the normal tank.  

Is there any fact to this myth?  

I have recently started to slowly add live rock to my aquarium as all fish had died. (I couldn't just let it sit there for 9 months!)  So I have noticed some new "creatures" making their way around the tank. Most of what I have read is that these creatures are harmless.  Any suggestions or preventive care I should take?

There is no fact to this myth that I am aware of.  Even if you took the rock out and licked it you would pose very little danger to the unborn child.

If you are still worried, you can buy special "reef" gloves which are an arms length and designed for special saltwater aquarium use.
