Question
Hi!
I am the lady with the high nitrate and dying snails issue. You recommended purchasing a thing for nitrate. Could you tell me where I could purchase this? What are the going prices?
Thanks!!!

Answer
HI Dawn. Still having problems with your nitrates I see! The denitrator I was talking about can be found at aquaripure.com This is the company that makes them and they have all the info as far as the size you will need and the pricing on their website. This is the one I have and that I have recommended to a few of my customers and I can say that it works great! It is easy to set up and maintain and all you have to do to keep it going is feed it a little vodka every 4-7 days depending on how bad of a problem you have. In the beginning you may have to fine tune the unit often to get it to where it is working efficiently for you and it takes about a month to cycle just like your tank. It uses anaerobic bacteria( bacteria that live in extremely low to no oxygen environments) to consume the nitrate and turn into a sulfur gas which is then released into the air. My nitrates are at zero and stay at zero at all time and I only have to do a partial every three weeks. Not because I have to but because I feel a need to I am anal like that. I would recommend this product to any one who wants a worry free system and has a hard time with nitrate build up.
