starting a fish tank

i would like to start a salt water fish tank. I am planning on buying a 60 gallon fish tank. I would like to have some fish with live coral as well as plants. What kind of fish should i start off with, as well as how many fish do you believe i could have in a 60 gallon tank?

hi brad, if you can i would buy the biggest tank you are allowed, have budget and space for, the bigger the tank the easyer it gets. only problem with going bigger is the cost does increase, but i think its worth paying out for the extra bits of kit.

for a 60gal tank you wont be able to get more than 4-5 medium sized fish, just remember when you are ready for the fish stage, reserch the adult size of the fish
