Question
Hi there I was wondering if you had any experience toadstool corals, is it ok to keep xeina pulsing corals and  hammerheads with toadstools? I bought my toadie bout a month ago and it has only extended its tentacles once , i was wondering if there might be some chemical warfare going on. I also have a bit of green algae growing over the head , i have managed to bast most of the algae off, But still no luck with it opening fully ?is it worth doing a iodine dip ?

Answer
Hello Jasen,

I have had toadstools and still do.  I like them a lot, and they are easy, hardy, and tempermental...

I dont think the xenia is an issue.  If they were to touch or rub, I think the only issue would be that they just dont like being touch, but evenutally grow around each other or in another direction...

BUT, leather corals are tempermental.  (I like talking about corals like they have some temperment or attitude creatures, heheh)

They go into some type of shock, and shrivel up and rot in sections and molt, (shed) thier skins, and all that, but the leathers that have doe that on me have all come back, even after it looked and felt like dissolving mush or ulcers...

You might want to give it a quick fresh water dip.  (like a dip and a dip, and thats good.)  Make sure the dip water is same temperatur as your tank, or close.

But, dont give up hope just yet.

Please let me know how things turn out for you...
