goldfish turning black

We recently bought a goldfish about two weeks ago.  Now we have noticed black spots on our orange goldfish on the body and fins. Some of the black spots are stringy, especially around the eyes.  The fish is acting fine, swimming around and eating, but the coloring has changed.

Hello,

I would try treating your tank with a combination of an antiparasite as well as aquarium salt. Follow the instructions carefully, and use them for the recommended amount of time. If this does not appear to be helping, then you may want to stop the antiparasite and try an antibacterial. This disease is hard to place, but likely it is either a parasite or bacterial infection, and because they are black spots, some stringy, it could be bugs or worms.
