Questionhi there, was just wondering my calico oranda was lively and full off life and all of a sudden shes stopped swimming lots and sits at the bottom of the tank, my black moore is always with her? is there something wrong
AnswerHi,
Goldfish of any type need at the very minimum 45 litres each (10 Gallons). They also need powerful filtration, an external canister is best, and a good healthy diet.
They also need good water parameters. I recommend buying test kits for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. The ammonia and nitrite are both very poisonous, so must be 0.0 constantly. If not, do several 30 percent water changes until they is down.
The nitrate is less poisonous, and is acceptable at levels under 30ppm; the lower, the better.
If you have any more questions, please ask.
Best of luck,
Kathryn
