Fresh water tanks

Question
I have a freshwater tank with a few fish. despite their combative attitudes, i had a betta, some feeders, and a green spotted puffer in a ten gallon tank. now, they didn't fight or even go near each other, so i left them. about a week later, my betta started growing this "fuzz" looking stuff over his gills. my guess is that's why he died. but now the puffer has it too and i don't know what it is. it's on one of his eyes, one fin, and a little on his belly. i took him out of the big tank and into fresh water. i have a filter, i use clear water food and feed them once a day. What is it that is growing on my fish? can itbe prevented? can it be cured? Lenox, my puffer, is still alive but don't know how much longer he has. please help me.

Answer
Hey Mallory,

the "fuzz" is a bacterial infection. Jungle makes these fizzy tabs, and you outta pick up the anti-fungal and bacterial tabs. They're fast, effective, and wont require you to remove your filter media while using them. Add one tab and wait 4 days. If the fuzz hasnt gone away, use another. It should clear things up for you!

Best wishes, and good luck.
