Question
so i have been looking all over the internet in search of an explaination of my Clown Knife's behavior. When moving around in the tank, it seems fine and alert. During most of the day, while its resting, (i assume) it tends to lay funny. sometimes it will lay flat on its side, sometimes straight up and down with noes up, and other times with nose down. I have even seen it in a  "J" form with head at the bottom. kind of laying on its face.most of the time it it always waving its fins, but once or twice has stopped movine untill woken up. otherwise acts normal. Its 6 inched long in a 30 gallon tank along with a 6in Biccu and a 4in Tin foil barb, a 4 and 1/2 in cat, a placco and smaller cat.  PH is 7 water temp is 77 F . Maybe this is normal behavior for this fish. I dont know. anuhelp would be appreciated

Answer
Well if he doesnt have a cave to tend to(sleep in, rest) they will stay out and try to appear like a plant. You have to keep in mind they have poor eyesight and use electric pulses. Your best bet of what hes doing is trying to be a plant or something. Add a pvc pipe or cave and he should act normal. Clear pipes are neat because that way you can see the fish.
