Question
My family went to a river/creek to catch minnows for fishing and there is one
smaller one that seems to be pregnant. I couldn't let them kill her so i kept
her at the house. What should I do for her is there anyway she will be able to
lay and hatch her eggs?

Answer
Hi Melva
I'm not an expert on fish breeding, but with the exception of livebearer fish-like guppies, platies, mollies, etc. who give birth to live young, other fish lay eggs.  After the female lays the eggs, the male needs to fertilize them for them to hatch.  So, you're best bet for her eggs to hatch, is to put her back in the creek :)  Good job saving her and the eggs though!!

Hope that helps!!
