Question
Hi
I have a 5 gallon bowl with 2 pygmy fantail goldfish and 2 platys . Do i have a problem with keeping them in a bowl.I also have a 1 gallon bowls with 4 guppies.Any problem you suggest.I am living in a tropical country so do i need a heater or any additional fittings? My 1 guppy got a dark gravid spot but suddenly it turned red. Is there any problem with my guppies?

Answer
Yes, you will need to move your fish to a normal tank if you plan on keeping them healthy and alive for years. Whether you need a heater depends on the water temp, if it is from 72-80 for the tropical guppies or 60-74 for the goldfish it is just fine and you dont need a heater. Adding the fish to a tank will aslo require a filter, this keeps the water clean and keeps the fish healthy. I would just watch the spot on the one guppy. If the fish has no other symptoms and is acting normal I would wait and see if anything develops. Let me know if you need more help.
