Question
Hello I have a new 150 gal. fish tank I bought secondhand and when I began filling it I discovered a leak after draining the tank and inspecting it I discoverd two pin hole sized holes in the bottom seam of my tank between the two glass plates. how is this fixable and would it be possible or safe to use aquarium glue?

Answer
Naiomi,
easy fix.
make sure the glass is not cracked anywhere.
take a razorblade and trim off the excess silicone sealer.
Don;t cut in between the glas panels, just the excess on the glass side and bottom.
once that is done, take some rubbing alcohol and wipe where you trimmed to remove any traces of residue.
Get a tube, a calking tube of aquarium sealer and a popsicle stick.
Lay a bead of silicone along the seam and smooth out with the stick, you can use your finger as well.
Let it dry for 24-48hrs and you are good to go.
Don;t over seal with the silicone, less is more here.
You will get a feel for it.
test the tank for leaks somewhere safe before you actually move it into position to set up.
If you need more assistance, just ask.
