rasbora not eating

Question
Hi Rachel.  I've recently cycled my 29 gallon biowheel tank and have 6 neon tetras and 5 rasboras.  One of the rasboras is not eating.  I've feed them bloodworms, spirulina, spectra tropical fish flakes with garlic.  All the other fish are eating except the one rasbora.  He will get a piece of food in his mouth for a few seconds and then spit it out.  There is also one rasbora that is really mean and is picking on everyone.  The raboras rarely school together but I have seen them do it.  I've talked to the fish store guy that I bought the rasboras from and he said I can bring in the one mean rasbora and trade him in for another.  I'm wondering if the non-eating rasbora isn't going to make it, it's been a little over a week since I've had them.  I'm thinking I should take the mean and the non-eating rasboras back and just get two new ones.  Any suggestions on what you think is happening or what I should do?  I'd hate to give back the non-eating rasbora but I really don't want to see him die! Thanks

Answer
It is highly likely that the stress of the new move and the stress of the bully fish are slowly messing with the one who is not eating. He is getting too stressed and does not feel well. However, it is hard to say if he will make it. I would suggest removing the bully, as he will continue to stress out the weak one and then move on to other fish. I would also suggest waiting with the weak one and seeing if once you remove the bully if he starts to act more normal. It is hard to say how he will react but it is almost sure that if you leave the bully in with the weak one he will very likely die. Also, check your water quality, take a sample to the store and have them test it just to make sure the water does not have high ammonia or other bad things. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else.
