i had gotten 2 convict cichlids about 8 month ago most .i asked a person on here if there good community fish they said not really .but it has been working out so far no death or injuries cause to them .my convicts laid eggs about 4 month ago and i thought it was no big deal because i thought they would eat them .but i don't think a single one of them has been eaten . there must be at least 30 little ones but they are growing quick i do not know what to do with them .So i guess my question is ..What do i do with all my fry?

Answer
Hi Devin;

Yikes. That's quite a quandary. Call your local fish stores and see if they are interested. Otherwise, you may have to advertise them locally or offer them for sale on the internet or something. Aquabid.com is a possible place, as well as Craigslist.org or giving them away on Freecycle.org. They are not very valuable though and may be very hard to find homes for. Convicts are very prolific and very aggressive breeders so they can be hard to sell. Once those babies start to mature and pair off, or even sooner, your tank will become totally uninhabitable by the other species you have in there. Hopefully you can get them out of there very soon. Just please let any new owners know what they are capable of. They are mean and they breed. A lot. They are well-known for killing fish more than 3 times their own size while protecting eggs and babies too. They can just be nasty little fellas.

Good luck...
