Determining Platy Gender

Question
Okay so i have 8 baby platies and from learning what i know about them, i just want to be sure if I'm right or not but looking at the platy fry, 3 out of 8 seem to me longer then the rest, what i mean is that the 3 have longer tails then the rest, and i feel like that they could grow up to be the females and the other ones would be male, but they are only 2 weeks old as of August 16 when they were born, so i can't really determine weather if they are females or males, but is it possible that you could find out what gender they are at this age just by looking at them very closely?

Answer
Hi Josh,
I want to apoligize first for being so late. There have been many complications on my end.

Well.. I think your platy fry need to mature a lot more for you to be able to tell. Once the males start to develop the 'gonopodium' around 4 weeks or so. Some fry will mature sooner than others so it can be difficult.

Good luck and I hope this helps!
Susan~
