Question
I have 2 dwarf gouramies in my tank. Well one of them was getting quite fat. The couple days ago, I noticed like white little balls stuck all over the glass of the tank. Are these eggs? they look like little white balls that are stuck to glass but is still moving. If there not eggs, what is it? Should I clean my tank?

Answer
Hi Darlene: they are probably gourami eggs... do nothing until they hatch... takes about four days... dave

Hi again: sorry for the short note... I was running late for work... I am the only expert here that does not put a limit on the number of questions that are asked of me... and this morning there were about 90.

The white egg like balls that you described are probably gourami eggs.  Do you have any other fish in the tank?  They do not sound like a disease or worm infestation as those usually just appear and not in the form of eggs/balls.  I would not worry about cleaning your tank at this point until you see what the eggs do... they are going to hatch into something and that is when we will need to make a decision about what to do with them.  There are two reasons to wait... one I think they are fish eggs and second if they are not fish eggs then we don't know what they are... so to choose a medicine at this point will just be destructive to your fish, fishtank, etc.  What we do know is that right now the eggs/balls are not causing any harm... so lets wait til they hatch and see what comes out... please feel free to ask me any other questions... dave
