gravel for a 265 gallon tank

we bought a 265 gallon tank. we would like to know how much gravel to put in it. some people are telling me to put 1 pound og gravel to every 1 and a half gallons of water? that would be 400 pounds of gravel? what do u suggest?

I was told a good estimate is 1 pound per gall on water. So you would put in 265 lbs of gravel.  This also depends on if you want to plant your tank with live plants or not.  If you are not using live plants, you may be able to get away with less gravel...just put in as much as you like the look of.
