Auto Power Outlets

Question
Hi Nick.
I have two freshwater tanks set up and have some happy fish living in them. My tanks are 20 and 26 gallon. My 20 gallon has a power filter and my 26 has a canister. I have a mix of live and fake plants in each. Mollies in the 20 and mixed goldfish in the 26.
Anyway, I am looking at ways to lower my electricity bill and would like to know if it is possible to turn the filter/bubbles off at night. I am considering buying an outlet accessory that has a timer to turn the light/bubbles/filter off at night, but I do not want to do so if that would cause it to be too dirty during the night, affect the plants, or cause the air in the water to become too low. My current schedule is to feed at 10/10 and keep the light off from 10pm-10am.
Thanks for any advice you can give.

Answer
You must keep the filter all 24/7, but if you have a bubbler you can turn it off during the day only. At night is when you really need oxygen.

Although, if you have enough surface movement from the filter a bubbler is completely unnessesary.
