Question
QUESTION: hi i am now moving onto my 3rd tank and have cared for angels, sharks, plecs, gouramis, ropefish etc fine. i have now bought a 350 uk litre corner tank (fluval venezia) which has an external 405 filter with it.
i have pondered and pondered over which fish to have as its such a beautiful tank it really maskes a statement of its own. the tank i wanted was a predatory tank with tiger shovelnose , gars, siamese tiger fish etc however after doing 3 months of intensive research i have realised i have no where near the size of tank required,.
i then pondered about discus however i really cant commit to every other day water changes due to work commitments.
,.... i am wondering as i dont just wanna gather lots of fish together and look at them individually i wanted to get a theme going if you know what i mean. i feel that i have had differnet types of fish and i am ready to really move on from that amaetuer tank look.
i have spent alot of money on gravel, air pumps, lights, t5 lighting, plants, mopani wood so i really want some thing amazing.
now sorry about the long message but i feel that i need to set the scene!! i was wondering what about an oddball tank, with individual fish that are amazng and special to look at?
i was thinking a bichir, black ghost knife fish etc. what do you think i know im lacking in the colour departmnent but i dont fancy malawi fish although i love the colours
can you think of any other amazing oddballs that would be ok in this tank?
i dont mind having to save and buy them separtaly but im runnijng out of ideas , getting fed up of seeing such a great tank empty i feel like filling it up asap!!
please help

Answer
Hi Bobby:  I did a tank of doom once that was very fun to set up and enjoyable to watch.  It consisted of a large sunken ship and several smaller sunken shifts as well as some interesting rock formations.  I stocked the tank with odd fish like... the glass catfish, shadowfin sharks, diamond eye tetra, crabs, etc.  I also used submersible lights in the green hues to make the tank look eerie... I also used two glow in the dark rocks/ornaments that I stuck in a rock cave and it looked like there were two eyes looking out all the time.... It was a great tank.... Is that kind of what you were looking for?
