Puffed up Fantail

Hi,  I have a large fantail that has puffed right up.  he is very lethargic, and his scales are sticking out.  He can't stay upright and keeps floating head down or upside down.  I have put him in a Hospital tank and treating him with fluke & Tapeworm medication (recommended by our pet store).  he's not getting any better.  Is there anything else I can give him to make him better?

Hi Jillian:  It sounds like your goldfish has dropsy.  Dropsy is akin to kidney failure in humans. There are no known cures for this. If you do a google search and look at the images of goldfish with dropsy you can make a better decision about if he has this or not... If he has dropsy he should be put to sleep.... keep me posted... dave
