Question
We have live plants in our fresh water tanks and like to give them plant food. However, i am concerned about my eels skin and how it will react to the metals in the plant food (ie. phosphorus, nitrogen, potassium, copper, etc.). What would you recommend? Thanking you in advance, Carolyn P.

Answer
Hi Carolyn

I don't have eels, but I have many other scaleless fish in planted aquariums. I use Nutrafin Plant Gro without any problems. It comes in both liquid and sticks and is safe for all fish. It's available at Petsmart and pretty much any local fish store. Follow the directions exactly and don't exceed the recommended dosage. Here is a link to the product at Petsmart..

And here is a link to help you in your care for live aquarium plants.....

I hope this helps, good luck!
