Blind fish?

Question
Hi, I have a discus fish (Coalbolt) and I asked a couple of months ago as to the cause of him/her not eating and having a dislike of flake food.
Well, my mum and I have come up with a theory as to why Coalbolt isn't eating. First, he/she only sees food when it is either close up of quite big. And second, Coalbolt doesn't notice small pieces of food even when they are in front of him/her.
We think Coalbolt may be short sighted or have blurred vision. I think it may be possible because when we bought him/her, Coalbolt had a wired spot over his/her left eye. It cleared up after a couple of weeks but could there be after effects??
To feed him/her, we have to put her in a breeding trap we used to use for platies because she eats the food when he/she is in there. But he/she still dislikes flake food...

Could my fish be short sighted or a bit blind and if so, is there anything we can do??

Answer
AJ,

Yes it is possible that the fish cannot see. the only thing you can do for Coalbolt is what you are already doing. As long as she is not having any other problems she should be ok. Just continue to feed her the way you are. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask anything as other things come up. Good luck with Coalbolt.
