frozen or freeze dried?

Question
I keep mostly SA Dwarfs and have been feeding them frozen foods for years. I was recently looking into some of the freeze dried foods. Now I know why monkey with success but do you have an opinion or facts on which is better?

Answer
Hi Erik;

Freeze dried is so much easier. That's why I like to use it. Try to soak it in water a couple of minutes before feeding though. If the fish eat it too dry they can develop serious indigestion.

Your fish may be reluctant to try it so feed just a little bit at first to make sure they will. (Don't want any uneaten food lying around the tank). Net out any extra and try again later without feeding any other food, letting them be a bit hungrier next time. If they never get the hang of it you will have to go back to frozen. They may not be as excited about dry as they were the frozen. Freeze dried is less "aromatic" than fresh or frozen and that's what the fish are attracted to.

Followups welcome.
