Bio wheel

after 1 year with this filter system my bio wheel looks new, fish are ok but why is thease wheels still not getting dark like most? thanks for your thoughts

James,                                                       If you do regular cleanings your biowheel don't get corrupt. You can rinse it now and then it won't hurt it ... the bacteria will build up again quickly .... as long as it is not turning brown which means you have too much dead bacteria in there .
