QuestionI have been having problems with my 30 gallon
tank. I have a typical filtering system but lately I have been seeing a greenish haze in the water. I have been trying hard to keep the water clean but there are times It bugs the heck out of me. I want to wash the glass of the tank but I'm worried about using soap and water on the outside of the tank. Are there any easy salutions to keep the bacteria out?
AnswerHi Robert;
You can use anything on the outside of the tank that you want to for cleaning the glass. I use regular window cleaner on the outside glass of my tanks. Just spray it on clean paper towels away from the tank and apply it instead of spraying it on the tank. It can't hurt the fish if you aren't spraying it in the water. Use damp paper towels to clean the top with. Don't use soap or cleaners up there or it could drip into the tank.
To help you with the rest of your concerns......
How long has your tank been set up?
What kind of filter system?
What kind of fish?
How big are the fish and how many are there?
How often do you make water changes and vacuum the gravel?
I'm not sure what you mean about keeping 'bacteria out'. What bacteria are you worried about keeping out, and out of where?
Let me know as soon as possible.
