Male betta, breeding?

Question
This is my first time raising a betta (male).  I have some questions.  I purchased throught aquarium a female betta.  My male betta was once in a vase with a plant.  I removed him, and put him in a larger fish tank.  He is now making bubbles along the sides of the fish bowl.  Is this a nest?  If so, how do i clean the bowl.  His female should be here in about three days.  The male is blue, and the female I ordere is red.  I understand how to introduce them, but I am totally confused on what are those bubbles, and how do I clean the bowl, without interrupting the bubbles?  Thank you, Debra

Answer
Hi Debra;

Just clean like you normally would. He will make another nest very quickly. You need to know that your female betta will have to be conditioned and prepared to have eggs developed inside her before she can be introduced to him. This takes several weeks of feeding frozen or live foods to get her "ripened". If she is not ready he can easily hurt her very seriously or even kill her. The male should have the same foods and they both need high temperatures, about 80. Here is more info to help you through it;
