Question
I got a paradisefish 2 yrs ago.I call it Bahama.It's belly got really round, like a marble was in it about 2 months ago so I got another paradisefish a month ago.I call it Caymen.I have them in a 29 gallon community tank.They seem to be the same color.I put about 20 artificial plants in it & a couple of bulbs to grow,they seemed to like it because  yesterday I looked at them and they were very dark and there tails flared out and they were going around in a circle at each other.I always thought Bahama was the female because of her belly.But she chases Caymen around charging and biting at him. So have you any idea from the info I gave you what there sexes are?Oh and one of them did make a bubble nest.

Answer
Hi Rebecca;

They may both be males and Bahama is just a good eater. It is unlikely that a female would chase a male that way. The more dominant male is probably the one that built the nest. Females are usually more dull in color and have shorter fins too.
