Male Guppies having babies

Question
Hello Kyle,
I recently found a dozen and a half of baby guppies swimming at the top of my tank.  I have no female fish in my tank, 2 male guppies, 1 Chinese algae eater, and 2 male Gold Barbs.  Now the babies are taking shape and they are guppies.  I wasn't aware that male guppies could do this?  I recall the Guppies and Barbs shooting up and down the stem of plants in my tank and racing around at one point.  That may have been the time they were making this situation happen?  Soon after the babies appeared, no fish took the caretakers role.  I had to remove the babies and put them in a separate bowl to prevent them all from being eaten.  Male Guppies pro-creating without females, any insight on this?  Will they continue to hatch more?

Answer
Hello David,
No male guppies can not reproduce. What you may have thought of to be your "male guppies" is probably a very pretty female guppy. Look at the anal fin on  both guppies. The females anal fin drops down like a flag and the males anal fin shoots back like a speer.
Hope This Helps
Kyle
