Pregnant Angel Fish

Question
We have a very pregnant Angel fish (no male Angel fish present) and she seems very stressed.  She is quite swollen and we wondered how long is the gestation before they drop their eggs?  Is there anything we can do to assist her as she seems very stressed... and has been pregnant for at least 2 weeks?

Hi Lana,
 Angelfish don't get pregnant as such; they are egg layers.  There has to be a male present to fertilize the eggs after she has laid them on a rock or plant or on the aquarium glass.

 Unfortunately, I suspect that she might not be swollen with eggs but rather swollen with some sort of intestinal problem.
