my boyfriend wont clean his tank!

my boyfriend recently lost one of his fish that he has had forr about a year and once it died he stopped cleaning his tank he still has 2 other fish in the tank and i dont see how they are able to live in that nasty water the water level has dropped ,alge is on the sides and the water isnt even clear any more he also has a tank in another room that doesnt have anything in it the fish died and he never dumped the tank the filter isnt even on the tank doesnt stink yet but i was wondering can him leaving the tank dirty like that be harmful to our health? please help!

Pardon me if I sound a little rude in this response.  

Your bf really needs to clean his tank!  This is just the same as abandoning  dong in a dirty home.  Living in their own waste.  This is just like animal cruelty!

As for your health, you should be fine, but it will start to smell so do clean it asap.  Make him clean it.
