When I can remove the babies from their parents

Question
I had a couple of convicts who decided to spawn and after about two weeks the female lost it and the male dis-owned her. The babies are all still doing great with mom back in protecting her, now I think dad is mating with somebody else in another tank, anyways... The babies are about 1 month old, I'm wondering when i can seperate them, and if so... Is it alright to move them into another home or is it better to keep them in the same enviroment. Thanks so much for your help the kids and I appreciate it :). Nicole

Answer
Hi Nicole,
After a month the kids are pretty much independent so yes you can separate them from the mom.  You can move them into another tank if you want.

P.S. Congratulations on being a parent! It's pretty cool, isn't it.
