Question
QUESTION: Hi,
I have 20 gallon fish tank with 2 adult fishes and 25-30 baby guppies. I need to clean the tank and don't know how. I can't use the pump to drain the water out (the babies will flow into the tube) and I am afraid to use algae killer (there is too much algae in my tank in last 3 weeks). Please help me provide a clean environment for the baby guppies. Thanx.
ANSWER: Hi Geeta,
The algae won't hurt the babies, in fact, it is good for them.  They eat it and the microscopic animals that live on it.

QUESTION: Ron,
Thank you for your prompt response. However, the tank looks so aweful to me and my husband. To the point, he is telling me to get rid of the tank altogether. I would really appreciate if you tell me how to clean the tank - so i get to keep it. Thanx.

Answer
Hi  Geeta,
The easiest way to get water out of a tank is with a hand siphon tube.  You can easily control where it is siphoning and make sure that no babies get sucked up.
