Betta Fin Disease

Question
Our Betta is about 1 year old.  We keep him in a 2 gallon tank that has a small filter.  Because it's air conditioning season, the water temp has been fluctuating lately.  Sometimes going down to 70, but it warms up during the day.
He's developed a strange growth on the tip of one of his fins.  It looks like the tip of the fin has small ball attached to the end of it.  It's the same color as his fin, about as large as a piece of small gravel.  The ball on the end of his fin floats up, making it look like he has to work harder to swim to the bottom of his tank.  There is no fin rot, he has a great appetite and is active.  Thanks for your help

Answer
Sorry who ever you asked your question to didn't want to answer it so i will and i will help you the best i can!

That does sound a lot like fungus i would treat him with "Jungle's fungus clear" and that should make the growth go away. Also when the growth goes away i would get him a ten-gallon tank with some tank mates like some red claw or fiddler crabs and some frogs just don't get anything bright colored ot else he might attack it.
