QuestionHelp! My betta started acted funny 2 or 3 weeks ago (rubbing against rocks, darting around furiously). I thought it was nothing until I started noticing little dots on her. I didn't know about ich, so I did nothing for a whole week. After I did some research, I bought QuickCure and have been using it daily. It's not working! The ich is growing on her and she's covered! She still has a great appetite, but I can tell she's suffering from this! What else can I do? She lives in a fishbowl. I think it might be because the water isn't warm enough. Should I use a salt bath? Can I use normal table salt in small amounts? Please help!
AnswerHi Jessica. I need for you to tell me if this stuff growing on her looks like salt granules, or more like a "hairy blanket" type of stuff. It may not be ich. If you have aquarium salt, I would add a pinch to the betta's water, as most of these things do not like salt. If you do not have aquarium salt, you can use a pinch of UNiodized table salt if you have it.
She could have parasites or something called columnaris. That's why I need you to give me a better description of what it looks like. I will wait to hear back from you and I'll get back to you ASAP. In the meantime, I would most definately use the salt, it can only help.
I'll wait to hear from you. 'o)
