Betta fish floating verticaly

Question
Hi, I just both a baby beta fish about 3 days ago for my daughter. The fish didn't eat anything since then, he is floating vertically most of the time and today my daughter noticed it changed color almost completely. So I changed 100% of water in his bowl-about gal.
The bowl is right here next to me and I can see he is almost back to his beautiful colors of violet-pink-bluish but still in vertical position.
Is something wrong with him?

We have another betta for over a year now, also raised from a baby and never had this problem with him.

Please help me, my daughter is very worried!

Thank you in advance for all you suggestions!

Katarina

Answer
Hi Katrina,
Bettas often sit more or less vertically in the water. I don't see that as a problem.

Color change in bettas is perfectly normal.

The temperature should be up near the high 70's. Is that the case?
