Question
Hi,
I bought a male betta 4 days back.On the first day it didnt eat the food which I bought for him.On the second day also it did the same then I killed one mosquito and put it in its bowl ,the betta ate it quickly. So I bought blood worm for him but he didnt ate them properly. But when again I put a live mosquito in its bowl he eats it quickly. Also it eats some part of it and spits the rest of the food out of his mouth.I am not able to understand where is the problem?

Also the temperatur of its bowl is around 65 F,I know the temperature is low but I want to ask whether heater are available for bowls also.Currently I am using a bulb to heat its bowl, but I dont know for how long should I keep the bulb glowing and when should I switch it off.

Answer
Naveen,                                                                Keep the bulb on. There is no heater that I know of for a bowl. Don't let him get picky. Frozen blood worms are great for him if he won't eat them right away give him a couple of days he will eat them. Just run a corner under the tap til they start coming off then shake a couple in. Put it in a ziplock and back in the freezer. A flat pack should last you months. Good Luck, Tina
