There is something wrong with my Pacu

Question
QUESTION: Recently my Pacu has no been eating anything and he is up-
side down, looking like he is gasping for air. also his lip
is very swollen and he has turned whitish yellow. i have no
idea what is wrong with him.

 Are there other fish in the tank that might have attacked him?

QUESTION: The only other fish in there is a sucker fish.  Bit I doubt that it attacked my
pacu.

Hi Daniel,
 It is rare that plecostomus (sucker fish) attaack other fish unless they are REALLY hungry.  If the plecostomus had attacked the pacu, you would see missing scales on the side of the pacu.

  How large is the pacu and have you had him a long time?
