Answer
Hello,
Yellow labs grow to 5 inches, and should be in a bigger tank.  You may keep them all together, but provide hiding places for them.  This is a very small tank to keep labs in.  They should be in a 60 gallon tank, or more.  When removing the females, do this at the very end of the spawn, when she is ready to let them go.  There is no danger for her to remain with the fry.  She will be very thin, so provide her with good food so that she gets her health back.  Hiding places are a must with African Cichlids as it secures them.  If they feel stressed, they will drop the spawn.  Females may be in the same tank, but make sure you have hiding places for them.
The time it will take differs from one fish to another, I cannot tell you any specific time.  It is all about observation.
