QuestionHi Ron,
We have recently started keeping fish and have a small tropical tank. We had 2 Mollies and 2 tetras. Both the adult Mollies died but they did give birth to a baby. The baby grew to about 2cms and then disappeared during the night following the death of the last adult molly. Is it possible that the neon tetra ate it? There is no body and one of the tetras has quite a bulging belly.
Regards
Kate
AnswerHi Kate,
It would be very unusual for a neon tetra to eat something like that. It could be that the molly died and the tetra nibbled at the carcass. It is also possible that the molly jumped out -- have you looked carefully around on the floor, particularly if the tank is not fully covered.
