Question
Renee,
What temperature should baby dalmatian Mollies be kept in?
AND
If a snail's shell is empty, does it mean the snail is dead?
AND
Why do green tiger barbs peck at gravel at feeding time instead of coming up for food?
AND FINALLY
Why is my female dalmatian molly swimming up and down and up and down in a corner?
Thank-you so much!

Answer
Hello Manahil,

Baby mollies should be kept at 80 degrees Farrenheit.

If a snail's shell is empty, there is no snail inside it, and yes, it is dead.

Green Tiger Barbs may be pecking at the gravel at feeding time because food is settling on the bottom.  Perhaps they are used to it settling on the bottom where they came from, before you got them.

The female dalmatian molly may be swimming up and down because she wants to swim fast and hasn't got room to do so, and/or she may be exhibiting stress due to other factors.  Perhaps the barbs are chasing her, or the male is chasing her or she is trying to find a place to have her babies.

There are a lot of possibilities.

Happy fish-keeping!

Renee
