Question
Hi I have a three month old budgie and I have a concern about him. I found a blood feather right on the outside of the wing. I don't know what to do and how to remove it with tweezers. I try holding my bird but he is not cuddly-friendly. He get's really upset even though if I try speaking softly to him.

Answer
Hello Esther! Ouch! most blood feathers can be removed with tweezers but since you have never done it before and your bird seems to not like it at all, the feather should fall out on its own. It might have fallen out already. My cockatiel gets blood feathers that are going to fall out, but i save her the pain and let it fall out on its own. It may even cause more pain for your bird if you pull it out. Also it will bleed. If you let it fall out on its own it will heal and no blood will come out. hope your baby feels better!
