parakeets laying eggs

Question
I had two feamle parakeets. Last year, they both started laying eggs. The older one9@15 years) died from it. The 3 year old has continued laying eggs at about two per week for almost a year now. I have tried everything! She won't stop. I think that sometimes she goes into her receptive state on seeing me or hearing my voice. She is so cute - she will do acrobatic tricks to get my attention. This is ridiculous. I don't know what to do.

Answer
Hello Joan,

That is an awful lot of eggs for one bird! The good news is i have found a wonderful article for you to read. It is about the 10 things you can do to prevent your bird from laying eggs. I would recommend making sure she is on a good diet with lots of cuttlebone and calcium replacements.
