Question
QUESTION: Hey i want to incubate parakeet eggs and my dad said i have to do every thing and i was wondering ounce they hatch do i need to be there to whole time? because no one will be home from 7:40 til 3:00 will the baby bird die??? I need to know because i really want to incubate them Thanks

ANSWER: Incubating is not a commitment to enter lightly.  Once they hatch, for the first 2 weeks or so, they will need feeding every 2 hours 24/7.  If no one will be home for over 7 hours, yes they will probably die.  Either let the parents care for them, or find a neighbor or friend who can help you feed them.  As they get older, they will become more independent of you, but for the first few weeks, when they're the most vulnerable, they will need constant care.

QUESTION: what if i leave food in there if i can what kind

Answer
No, that won't work.  The impression I'm getting from you (no offense) is that you are inexperienced with budgies, and this is probably your first time dealing with babies.  I would strongly recommend not incubating them yourself.  They need a special food mixture; they cannot eat adult food until they are around four weeks old.  The formula must be mixed with warm water, and fed to them immediately with an eyedropper.  Yes, it's a lot of work, and if you aren't able to commit to it, then don't do it.
