Sick Senegal

Question
I have just purchased a Senegal parrot from a pet shop and he is two years old.
He seems very depressed and he also has sticky eyes.
He will only move about when you leave the room and he is on his own.
Can you suggest anything I can do?
I already have a 5 year old Senegal parrot and he is fine.

Hello Joyce.

If your new Senagull has sticky eyes, then he needs to get into an avian vet.  He is a sick bird and needs the medical attention that only a vet can provide.  That is probably why he seems depressed.
Also, please make sure that he is quarantined from your other bird so that the other bird doesn't get sick too.
Take all of the precautions that you can to make sure that your older bird doesn't get sick.  After handling the newer bird, make sure that you wash your hands really thuroughly, and do not let them share dishes.
