New Bird

I got my first parakeet, Belly a week ago. He doesn't seem to be eating or drinking any water. The only time he will eat is when I hand feed him millet.He isn't pooping and his vent is dirty. I am at a lost as to what to do.

Most birds seem like they are not eating when new to your home. But considering his bottom is dirty, he may be sick. A common illness for parakeets is when they haven poop stuck to their bottom. Get him checked out, and if he dies your pet store probably has a warranty.
