cockatiel bonding

Question
Hi Cynthia,   You may have mentioned this before but cant seem to find the question i posted.  I just wanted to know if my 2 cockatiels are pair bonded.    I got Rosie first and then about 5 weeks later I got Jim.  Jim is the youngest of the 2.  Rosie is over a year old (so i was told) and laid eggs in he rold home.  Jim was a baby when we got him.  Rosie is now bowing her head to jim, he sometimes preens her but other times just hits her with his beak.  I also noticed that rosie had a feather in her mouth and gave it to jim, i heard that they do this when sharing food but dont know about a feather.  lol
They are very tame birds.  always making noises to come out, and when they do they always sit on the couch with me and my girlfriend and bow their heads for a stroke.  Jim is the tamest of the 2, always climbing on my head and on the front of my shirts for a stroke.  Jim is also, i think, trying to talk cause he is making the wierdest of noises, not whistling more like girgles and chirps.  They dont fight each other at all, they have a peck now and again but jim follows rosie where ever she goes.  As soon as she flies back to the cage he calls out to her and tries to fly to her.  Would you say they are bonded.  Also am i taking care of them ok as they seem to be in a great mood all the time and tame.
They have access to charcoal, cockatiel food, toys, water (obviously,) cuttlefish, treats.
Thamks Cynthia

Answer
Jan,

It sounds like Rosie and Jim are wonderful birds!  How lucky you are to have them.

I would definitely say that they are  bonded to each other and to you.

There is no need for them to have charcoal, so you can remove that.

Good luck,

Cindy
