Questionhello ma'am, one of good trainers at our local racetrack told me that colicky horses dont show much interest in eating the feed when provided. they just sniff it and move away. may i know why colic struck horses dont eat when the feed is provided?

Colic in a horse is like a stomach ache in a person, and horses have that same instinct to not want to eat while their digestive systems are upset...they're pretty bright that way. A horse that refuses to eat grain when he would normally eat it immediately is one of the first signs of the onset of colic.
