Questionhello ma'am, lets suppose i provided fodder to a horse after riding, does the horse eat it all at once or eat the fodder in intervels, i mean, taking few bites for few minutes, take some time and then few more in its leisure time? can you please explain me about the horse eating pattern?
AnswerHello Rohit,
Horses are designed by nature to be trickle feeders, so they tend to pick slowly at their forages. It's not unusual for the horse to eat some of its forage and then leave some for later while walking around foraging. Having said that, horses do tend to eat their grain all at once. A horse in a natural grazing environment will spend 17-19 hours a day picking through available forage, all while wandering...it's their natural grazing pattern.
Thanks, Corlena
