herd bound pony

Question
If I put my pony in his stall before the gelding comes in my pony calls to him, dances at the stall gate and has reared and gotten his front hooves stuck on the stall door.  I am going away in a few weeks and the gelding is also going to be away what can I do to keep him sane for 1 week.

Hi Denise,
           Is there anyway you can leave her out in the pasture or paddock while you are gone? If not can you bring him with you? If neither is possible I would see about borrowing another horse to keep him company. When you come back you should start to work on making him less herd bound.
